2008 Elizabeth whiting PERA Conference Scholarships for Postgraduate Research and honours students

Elizabeth Whiting was one of PERA's long standing members, who had attended all PERA Conferences since her full-time appointment as a lecturer at the University of Western Sydney. Elizabeth passed away in October 2006 after a battle with cancer.   All of those who knew Elizabeth from PERA and her colleagues at UWS have very fond memories of her. She was the sort of person who had a great impact and influence on those who were privileged to know her. Two Elizabeth Whiting PERA Conference Scholarships are available for full-time postgraduate research and/or honours students who are not otherwise subsidised, to present a paper at this year's PERA Annual Conference at Ballarat.  Each scholarship includes reimbursement of reasonable expenses up to $1000, as well as exemption from the PERA registration fee. The scholarships are available on a competitive basis and will be awarded on the basis of the best completed paper submitted by postgraduate and/or honours students.  In order to qualify for this award, the full paper must be submitted by 29 September 2008.   If you would like to make an application for one of these scholarships, please make a note in your email when submitting your paper.
